“This is just a small halt, Not end of the Journey”

The 2nd Phase of IPL 2021 has barely started and the string of surprising events has already taken place, but this time off the field.

In a shocking turn of events, Virat Kohli has decided to step down as the Captain of his IPL franchise RCB. He made this announcement via the official social media pages of Royal Challenger Banglore where Virat was seen passing out an emotional message to his and RCB’s fans that this would be the last season he will be captaining RCB.

Virat states that he intends to provide him with some space so that he can manage his workload which has been considerably very heavy from past few years. Which was the same reason given out when he decided that he would step down from the captaincy role of the Indian T20 side after the world cup with the intend of concentrating more on his batting form which unfortunately is down from some time.

Although Virat has stepped down from the captaincy role he has made it clear that he would continue to stay In RCB, a place where he started his IPL career in 2008 and got to become the Captain of the side from 2011 with not even one IPL trophy under his belt as a player or captain of the star studded outfit.

This brings an end to a 9 year long legacy which Virat had created in the team, and only time will say what will happen next in the RCB camp and who they find most suitable for the role of a captain. Will they go for an existing player from the squad or will they try to cash in on the opportunity they have in 2022 which is the mega auction.
